TERRE HAUTE, Ind – The Terre Haute City Council Planning, Zoning and Improvements Committee will meet Monday to discuss the proposed change from one-way to two-way for some city streets.
The change would affect Cherry Street, and Eighth and Ninth Streets from Maple Avenue to Hulman Street.
Recently Mayor Duke Bennett, has expressed concerns about city and commercial buses using the bus station at Seventh and Cherry and large trucks at Ninth and Cherry if two-way traffic is allowed.
The meeting is set to take place at 1 p.m. Monday in the Board of Public Works and Safety Conference Room in City Hall.
A request to close Eighth Street between Cherry Street and Wabash for construction of the new convention center and a new hotel is set for Thursdays City Council meeting.
