TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – On Monday, the Vigo County school board approved plans to buy seventeen new school buses.
The purchase will consist of eleven conventional buses and six special needs buses that will replace older units in the fleet which consists of nearly two hundred buses.
Currently buses have two cameras on board to keep an eye on the kids, but the new buses will come equipped with four cameras.
The two extra cameras will be keeping an eye on motorists around the buses who might disregard the stop arms.
That video is admissible in court.
Extra cameras might be added to other buses later.
