Deputies Investigate Suspected Drug Laced Candy At West Vigo Middle School

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – On Tuesday (2/26/19) Vigo County Deputies Vigo County School Corporation officials investigated an incident involving a student in possession of gummy candy laced with an alleged controlled substance at West Vigo Middle School.
Police say that a 14-year-old female student was in possession of the gummy candy and another student was transported to the hospital after consuming the candy.
That student has been treated and released.
The Vigo County School Corporation believes that it may have been Xanax.
Authorities are investigating additional suspects and a search warrant has been executed.
The investigation is ongoing.
