TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Now that we know that a new jail won’t be built on the old International Paper property, Vigo County Commissioners are looking for proposals on what the site should be used for.

Commissioners say that they plan to lease the site.

There have been ideas like a concert venue, parks, and even commercial space.

Leaders say they want to look at options that could benefit the community.
