INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Agriculture is now accepting submissions for the 12th annual Indiana agriculture photo contest. The contest is open to Indiana residents and was created to recognize the hard work and contributions of Hoosier farmers, as well as the beauty of the state’s agricultural landscape.

The winners will be invited to attend a special ceremony at the Indiana State Fair, where they will be recognized and receive certificates from Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch and Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Bruce Kettler.

“You don’t have to be a professional photographer to enter this contest,” Crouch said. “We encourage anyone, who recognizes the importance and beauty of agriculture, to participate.”

Contestants can submit up to five photos in digital format. Each photo must be taken within the state, accompanied by an entry form and fall under one of the following categories: Agritourism, Conservation, Faces of Agriculture or On the Farm.

In total, ten winners will be selected: two from each category and two overall.

“Every photo tells a story, and ours, in Indiana, revolves around agriculture,” Kettler said. “This contest is a great way to showcase the importance of this industry, as well as the individuals who make it possible year after year.”

Photos will be evaluated based on creativity, composition and category representation. Entries must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. (ET) on June 30, 2019.
