COLUMBUS, Ind. — Celebrating the Fourth of July shouldn’t involve slapping a sheriff’s deputy with part of your swimsuit, but it did for a woman from Indy.
Kimberly Swindell was arrested Saturday night in Bartholomew County.
Sheriff’s deputies met Swindell after being called to a home in the 4000 block of North Huffer Road, according to The Republic newspaper in Columbus.
Deputies smelled alcohol when speaking with Swindell and found out she was in possession of a controlled substance, reports The Republic.
Deputies say Swindell, who was wearing a bathing suit at the time, began to undress. She removed part of her bathing suit and threw it at the officers, hitting Deputy Dustin Newland in the face.
Swindell is charged with battery on a police officer and drug possession.
