MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind – Thursday morning just before 10:00 a.m. a crash in Montgomery County has left a Rockville woman dead.
It happened on SR 47 about three miles west of Crawfordsville.
Troopers say that 66-year-old Paula Martin of Rockville went left of center striking another car driven by 74-year-old Albert McClain of Waveland head on. McClain’s vehicle then hit a third car driven by 34-year-old Anna Cornelius of New Market, Indiana.
The first trooper on scene found Martin with a with a severe wound to her arm. The officer applied a tourniquet. Martin was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis where she later died as a result of her injuries.
McClain was taken by ambulance to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries.
Cornelius complained of pain but refused treatment at the scene.
Police say that all appeared to be wearing seat belts.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
