CLAY COUNTY, Ind – A Clay County teen was killed in an early morning crash Saturday.
Clay County Chief Deputy Josh Clark tells us that it happened just before 7:00 a.m.on State Road 59 near County Road 800 North.
16 year old Rylee Rogers of Brazil was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say that Rogers car crossed the center line and collided with a pickup driven by 53 year old Kent Lawson of Terre Haute.
Lawson told police he saw the car slowly cross into his lane and the driver was looking down and never looked up before the crash. Lawson said that he tried to avoid the crash but was unable to as the car kept coming toward him.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been a factor but tests are pending.
