PARKE COUNTY, Ind. – A CSX train derailed Thursday afternoon around 5:00 p.m. in Parke County.
CSX said that 15 rail cars containing coke derailed near the U.S. 41 overpass in the Rosedale area. No hazardous materials were involved.
At least 10 cars were left on their side.
41-year-old Benjamin Ewing, who is a CSX employee, fell down a 40-foot ravine near the derailment.
He was transported to Union Hospital to be checked out but reportedly suffered no major injures.
Several days could be needed to clean up the accident but it should not affect the general public.
