PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Local State Representative Tonya Pfaff will take part in and lead a discussion about education funding on Monday, August 26th at the Parke County Extension Office meeting room.  The location is Parke County 4-H Fairgrounds, on US 41 north of Rockville. A lite dinner will be available starting at 5:30 p.m., and the presentation will begin by 6:15 p.m.  There is no charge for the dinner or program. A representative from the Indiana Department of Education will also be present to answer questions on education finance in the state.

This is the third bi-monthly voter education workshop offered in Parke County this year.  The goal is to foster open public discussions on important issues. Education is critical to the success of Parke County and taxpayers want their money to be used wisely.  Funding of public education in Indiana changed dramatically a few years ago and this session will help everyone understand the current system and status.

While the voter education series is sponsored by Parke County Democrats, the non-partisan sessions do not include any political activity and everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussion.

State Rep. Pfaff was elected in 2018 to represent District 43, which includes most of Terre Haute.  She is also a Terre Haute North Vigo teacher, having just started her 27th year in the classroom.
