Two Arrested In Sullivan For Allegedly Breaking Into Several Vehicles

SULLIVAN, IN – On Monday (9/30/19) around 1:15 a.m. Sullivan County Sheriff’s dispatch received a call about a suspicious vehicle around the 800 block of East Davis St. in Sullivan.

The person that called told officers that a vehicle stopped near her driveway, a woman got out with a flashlight and then disappeared.

By 4:40 a.m. officers saw a similar vehicle stop near a residence in the 800 block of East Beech St.

Two women got out, got into a nearby car, went through it and then fled.

The vehicle was stopped and officers could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Several stolen items were found in the car.

The driver was a 17-year-old female and passenger 18 year old Jakaylee Smith, both from Sullivan were both arrested on multiple charges including and possession of stolen property.

Police say that several vehicles were broken into in and around Sullivan Sunday night.

Some of the items stolen include a 9 millimeter handgun and a town marshal’s badge. The badge was found inside the female juvenile’s vehicle.
