VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – Tuesday morning Vigo County Commissioners approved project bids for 13 companies looking to help build a new Vigo County Jail.

Construction costs are now projected at just over $56 million.

Commissioners made about $2 million in cuts to stay within budget.

Garmong is managing construction for the project and will work to hire contractors.

The next step is to let bonds for the project.

Leaders say they hope is to break ground on the facility in December.
