SEYMOUR, Ind. — Seymour police say a person walking their dog found the child Tuesday afternoon abandoned inside a bag left along a fence row about 20 yards from a road.
Police are investigating but so far, no arrests have been made.
According to police the infant was examined by doctors and is alive and healthy.
They city has a baby box at one of its fire stations where people can relinquish newborns anonymously, without fear of prosecution.
Seymour is about 60 miles south of Indianapolis in Jackson County.
