SULLIVAN, Ind. – An emergency evacuation in Sullivan has been lifted according to Mayor Clint Lamb.
On Wednesday, crews were forced to evacuate the area around North Court Street after a building that had earlier had structural problems became unstable.
Measures were taken to secure the building.
The city and gas company have placed metal sheets to catch anymore falling debris.
Some affected businesses in the area are back open but offices in the City Hall have temporarily been moved Innovate Sullivan at 32 N. Washington St. and will reopen Monday morning at 8:00 am
City leaders are still trying to determine if the building will need to be demolished or if it can be saved.
