VIGO COUNTY, Ind – It is election day across the state. Many municipalities will see voters head to the polls.
Locally voters will decide on the Terre Haute Mayors race and city council seats.
There are also two referendum questions on the ballot that all residents in Vigo County can vote on.
There are questions on whether to allow a casino in Vigo County and if there should be a property tax hike to support schools.
As of the end of early voting on Monday over 12,500 ballots had been cast.
6,447 city residents and 6,132 county residents have voted out of a total of 70,639 eligible voters.
In West Terre Haute, voters can select from among four candidates seeking three town council seats and Seelyville voters will select members of the town board and a town clerk-treasurer.
There are 14 vote centers in Vigo County open until 6:00 p.m. this evening.
