New History Center Opens Today

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – It has taken a few years but today will be the day that the new History Center at 929 Wabash will open to the public.

Considerable planning, fundraising and renovation has made today possible.

The first visitors will be several groups of Vigo County third graders.

The previously planned field trips connect to the third-grade social science curriculum, which focuses on community.

Other school field trips will happen later this week and next week.

A formal ribbon cutting set for November 19th.

Th new museum is in the former Ehrmann Furniture Building which was built in 1895.

The total project cost is to do renovations and move in cost than $3 million.

Museum admission is $7 for adults; $6 for seniors 60 and over; $4 for children age 5 to 18 and free for children under age 5.
