SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind – Three people were sent to the hospital after a head on crash near Sullivan Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:15p.m. Indiana State Police say that 26 year old Rachel L. Whitlock of Sullivan lost control of her mini van after sliding on ice.

Whitlock collided head on into a pick-up truck driven by 47 year old Melissa A. Horton of Carlisle.

Horton was taken to the Sullivan County Community Hospital for a complaint of pain in her back.

Two small children traveling in Whitlock’s vehicle were taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.  Both children were properly restrained in car seats and suffered no serious injuries.

Whitlock was cited for speed too fast for road conditions.

Indiana State Police wants to remind all drivers to adjust your speed, following distance, and stopping distance for icy road conditions.
