TERRE HAUTE, Ind – A Terre Haute man is being held in the Vigo County Jail on charges of child neglect.
Police say that 21-year-old Noah Rowans was arrested on Tuesday and admitted to battering his girlfriend’s 2-month-old child while she was at work Monday.
The child is being treated at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and is reportedly suffering from a bleed on his brain, uncontrolled seizures and an unregulated heart rate.
Rowans told officers that he lifted the child up and down multiple times and that the child’s head whipped back and forth.
Rowans is being held on $50,000 cash only bond.
He will likely appear in court next week.
