TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning Terre Haute Police tried to stop a car near 17th and Sycamore for failure to use a turn signal. The driver refused to stop and took off leading officers on a short chase that ended near 22nd and Cleveland.
The driver jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot only to be quickly apprehended by a THPD K-9.

The chase and short foot pursuit caused a brief lockout at Meadows, Deming, and Franklin Elementary schools while police were active in the area. The lockout only lasted a few minutes and was lifted when the suspect was apprehended.
