Traffic Stop Leads To DUI And Drug Charges

VIGO COUNTY, Ind –  Friday afternoon ( 1/17/20) around 4:00 p.m., Trooper Andrew Mattern stopped a vehicle in the area of US 41 and French Drive, for going left of center and an equipment violation.

Police say that suspicious activity led to a search of the vehicle.

Methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found.

Police say that 50-year-old Scott Garret of Indianapolis was arrested after failing a chemical test.

Garrett faces charges of:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, Felony 6
  • Possession of marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
  • Possession of paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor
  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, Class C Misdemeanor
  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, Class A Misdemeanor
