VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Sunday evening (01/19/20) just after 9:00 p.m, the Vermillion County Dispatch received reports of a white Ford Taurus driving erratically, northbound on SR 63 in the area of Hazelbluff Rd.
Deputies and dispatch found that the reported plate number of the vehicle came back to 40 year old Joseph A. Ingram, of Terre Haute who was listed as a habitual traffic violator.
Deputies located a vehicle matching the description and license plate, leaving the McDonald’s parking lot on SR 163.
When deputies attempted to call Ingram from the vehicle, he was non-compliant and began to walk away.
Officers then placed him custody.
Several empty alcohol containers were discovered in the vehicle and he admitted to have been drinking.
Tests at Union Hospital in Clinton showed Ingram’s blood alcohol content at 0.319%.
Ingram was arrested on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a previous conviction, Habitual Traffic Violator, and Resisting Law Enforcement.
