STATEWIDE — Indiana students will be singing a different tune.
The Indiana State School Music Association, or ISSMA, has canceled all music events through April 11 to protect students, schools and communities from the spread of the coronavirus.
ISSMA said they consulted with the Indiana State Department of Health to make the decision.
More than 35,000 students from more than 300 schools across the state would have been participating in the events.
The cancellation includes ISSMA State Show Choir and Jazz Finals.
ISSMA said they are trying to find a way for directors of Junior/Middle/Elementary Ensembles who were supposed to take part in the Junior/Middle/Elementary Concert Organization Festivals to submit video recordings for evaluation.
