SHELBURN, Ind. – Shelburn residents will soon see higher water bills.
The town council has voted to hike water rates by 24.5%
It’s the first time the town has seen a rate increase since 2007.
City officials said based off the average 4,000 gallons used per household, it breaks down to an extra $10 dollars a month.
Officials say that the towns wells are 30 years old and they need to be re-lined, There are other infrastructure improvements needed and this will help them to prevent future problems.
Higher rates will be reflected on customers May bill.
