TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Officials are investigating the death of an inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary in Terre Haute.

38 year old Jeremy Daniel Carpenter was found unresponsive at 9:45 a.m. Thursday by prison staff.

The death does not appear to be COVID-19 related.

No staff or other inmates were injured,

Carpenter was serving a 115-month sentence for bank robbery.
