BRAZIL, Ind – In a phone interview Thursday (6/18/20) afternoon Brazil City Police Chief Clint McQueen released the name of the victim in an early morning stabbing.
Police say that 53 year old Carl Haviland of Brazil suffered multiple stab wounds during an altercation just after midnight at 236 East National Avenue.
Officers were called just after midnight. They found Haviland suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
After interviewing several witnesses officers arrested 29 year old Cody Wade of Brazil on a charge of murder.
McQueen said that their investigation is continuing and other details about what led to the altercation will not be released at this time.
