Indiana County By County Unemployment Numbers Released

INDIANA – The unemployment rate in the Wabash Valley continues to creep higher.

On Monday the Indiana Department of Workforce Development released the county by county unemployment numbers.

Vermillion County had the highest rate in the Wabash Valley at 5.9% placing it as 7th highest in the state.

Vigo County was not far behind in 9th place at 5.7%.

Clay County was 21st on the list at 5.1%, followed by Sullivan County at 23rd place with a rate also at 5.1%.

Parke County was in 45th place with a rate of 4.1%.

The highest rate in Indiana was Howard County at 8.5 percent.

The lowest rate is in LaGrange County with a rate of 2.9%.

The state rate is 4.7%
