Rockville, In. – According to The Parke County EMS Facebook page at approximately 1:30 am Wednesday morning, 2/16/22, the Parke County EMS Station was damaged by fire. An ambulance had just returned to station when a fire erupted in the engine compartment. The ambulance was a total loss and 2 others are now out of service until insurance inspects them and they can be repaired. One fully functional Ambulance is still operational. Two staff members suffered smoke inhalation and were treated at Union Hospital Clinton and released. Also lost were all medical supplies and a large amount of equipment.
Parke County EMA say’s “We are shaken up, but we are safe and healthy and we will rebuild. Our community is our priority and we will remain in service to keep you safe. We want to extend a huge thank you to Parke County Sheriffs Dept, Rockville and Bellmore Fire Depts, and Rockville Police Dept for your quick response and the amazing work. We are grateful for all you do.
