Terre Haute, In. – A Terre Haute man who pleaded guilty to an April 2021 robbery in Thompson Park will spend four years in prison on felony charges. 19 year old Colton Clements was sentenced Tuesday in Vigo Superior Court. He received credit for 383 days already served in jail and on electronic monitoring. The judge suspended the remaining two years and 347 days of the sentence to formal probation in a plea agreement that also dismissed additional charges of armed robbery and theft. Clements and a co-defendant… Ashlton Bennett… were arrested after a victim told police he was sitting on a bench in the park when the two approached him and asked for a cigarette… then pulled a gun and made off with his backpack and cell phone. Bennett’s case meanwhile, remains pending, with a jury trial set for April 26th.
