Terre Haute, In. – Duke Energy Indiana announced yesterday, that they are in the process now of converting more than 300 old/inefficient streetlights along U.S. 41 in Terre Haute to LEDs. The project when completed, will mean that the old light fixtures along the highway will be gone, and in their place will be the new energy-efficient lights which will mean big cost-savings for the city in the form of more than 350 kilowatt-hours of saved energy per year…. and a cost savings of more than $10,000 for the city of Terre Haute. The new lights will also be much clearer and brighter than the old fashioned high-pressure sodium streetlights.
