Riley, In. – The Riley spur trail project is a go after the Vigo County Council approves funding. The council unanimously approved $390,000 to fund the Riley Spur Trail Project. The commissioners needed $250,000 for the easement, and $140,000 to remove the railroad ties. The commissioners are applying for grants to fund the remainder of the project. The goal is to start construction next summer, and have the trail open by the Fall of 2023.
