Republican incumbents in Indiana have a huge fundraising advantage over their Democratic challengers.
-Indiana’s 8th District Republican Congressman Larry Bucshon (Boo-Shawn) of Newburgh has raised over 1.3 million dollars since being re-elected in 2020. His current cash on hand according to the latest quarterly report filed with the Federal Elections Commission thru September is $615,173.
His Democratic opponent, Ray McCormick has raised over $113,000 which includes a $20,000 loan by the candidate. McCormick’s cash on hand thru September was only $36,000.
-In the US Senate Race, Todd Young has raised over 14.5 million dollars during his 6-year term. Young reported he had 5.5 million cash on hand thru September.
Senator Young’s Democratic challenger, Hammond Mayor, Tom McDermott, has raised nearly 1 million, 140 thousand dollars. ($1,139.525). McDermott has just under $400,000 cash on hand at the end of September.
