Brazil-A Carbon man was arrested by a Clay County Sheriff’s Department deputy after suspected methamphetamine and a handgun were found in his pickup.

The arrest was made Thursday following the stop for traffic violations at 11:24 p.m. on Murphy Avenue. A search of the vehicle was made after Daniel D. Wheat, 46, of Carbon exhibited criminal behavior.

Wheat was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with an Enhancing Circumstance, a Level 5 Felony; and
Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony.

This case has been forwarded to the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office for review and charging information.
