Indianapolis- A bill moving through the Indiana General Assembly would provide temporary tax relief, though much work remains to be done before it would take effect.

The bill could provide a short-term property tax cap and increase state income tax deductions. It would also limit how much higher local taxes can be raised.

The bill came from Rep. Jeff Thompson (R), Lizton, chairman of House Ways and Means.
