Clay Sheriff’s Department investigation yields two arrests

Brazil- On Tuesday, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office served two arrest warrants for drug related charges. These arrests were unrelated, but were the result of lengthy investigations by Clay County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division. During the early morning hours, Clay County Deputies and Detectives arrested Brandon J. Query, 36 of Brazil, at his residence located in Brazil, Indiana stated a news release from Sheriff Brison Swearingen.

Query was arrested for the following charges:

Count I: Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony;

Count Il: Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony;

Count III: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 Felony;

Count IV: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 Felony;

Count V: Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony;

Count VI: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 Felony;

Count VII: Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony; and Count VIII: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 Felony.

Later in the afternoon, members of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, located and arrested Eric M. Rader, 37 of Reelsville, Indiana.

Radar was found in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was transported to the Clay County Justice Center where he was remanded on his arrest warrant for the following charges:

  • Count I: Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony;
    Count II: Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 3 Felony;
    Count III: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony; and
  • Count IV: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony.

Both Query and Rader were remanded to the Clay County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Assisting the Clay County Sheriff’s Office with the arrests were members from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police.
