SULLIVAN — Around 1 p.m. Thursday law enforcement officers learned a large piece of machinery had hit and killed a mine worker at the Bear Run Coal Mine, which is located between County Road 700E and County Road 700S in Sullivan County.

The Mining Safety & Health Administration is investigating the death. No further details were immediately available.
