TERRE HAUTE – It’s official. Chris Himsel was appointed superintendent of Vigo County School Corporation on Monday night.
After the meeting, he spoke with reporters.
“I’m excited to get started. The work of developing talent and nurturing the creativity of our children is what it’s about, and it’s exciting to get back into that role,” Himsel said.“There’s something about Vigo County Schools that has just, in my opinion, always been something that’s ready to take off. It was very similar when we went to Fort Wayne in northeast Indiana. In the last 10 years, it has just exploded in terms of its growth, in terms of what it has been able to do. I think that Vigo County and the Wabash Valley is in a very similar situation.”
