TERRE HAUTE – A Vigo County deputy who shot a suspect in June has been “cleared of any wrongdoing” by Prosecutor Terry Modesitt.

”The investigation shows that the shot fired by Deputy Dayton Huebner was consistent with Indiana self-defense law and was a permissible use of deadly force.”

Dockery had guns and 190 rounds of ammunition in the house and had posted on social media, “Is it bad that I want to go out in a blaze of fury???”

A person at the residence called 911 to express concern about his safety. Deputy Huebner repeatedly asked Dockery to come out and talk before Dockery pointed an assault style rifle at the deputy and Huebner fired one shot at Dockery.
