Today at 1 p.m. the Vermillion County Board of Commissioners with the support of the Vermillion County Fire Chiefs, County Sheriff and County EMA have made the decision to rescind the Burn Ban in Vermillion County.
“With the recent receipt of 2 to 3 inches of rain and vegetation in most areas of the county rebounding from drought conditions removing the ban is the proper decision at this time,” read a news release. “The Vermillion County Commissioners urge all citizens of the county to still observe caution when working outdoors on projects that create a heat source and might possibly ignite a fire that can ger out of control. If you have any questions contact your local fire departments for direction on how to proceed.”
