TERRE HAUTE – On Sunday, the Terre Haute Police Department worked with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police with locating an individual who was wanted out of Vermillion County, Illinois for the charge of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. The suspect had fled into a large field near Devonald Ave and Erickson St and was possibly armed with a firearm.

THPD Uniform Officers coordinated with other agencies to asssit in the large perimeter. The THPD Special Response Team along with Negotiators were able to drive their armored vehicle through fields and wooded areas until the suspect was located. Negotiators were able to talk with the suspect until he surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office and The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.
