Hannah K. Gentile is Rockville’s first female officer (Rockville Police Department)

She believed she could, so she did – R.S. Grey. Law enforcement is widely considered a male-dominated profession. Women began serving as police officers in the United States in 1890 and currently make up approximately 12.6% of all serving police officers. The Rockville Police Department is proud to announce the graduation of Patrolman Hannah K. Gentile. Patrolman Gentile has been employed with the Rockville Police Department since February 15th, 2022, and is the first female officer to be hired full-time and to graduate from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Patrolman Gentile moved to Rockville in 2021 and expressed her desire to get into law enforcement, as she enjoys helping people. She describes herself as trustworthy, open-minded, and a good communicator. Patrolman Gentile hopes to have a long career with the Rockville Police Department.
