VIGO COUNTY, Indiana (DLC Media) – Following the death of long-time Prairiton Fire Department firefighter Dave Phelps, a memorial service and viewing ceremony have been set. Phelps was a decorated member of the department for nearly 60 years. During a call last week, Phelps had a heart attack at the scene. Phelps died soon after the medical emergency.

Phelps’ visitation will be on Tuesday at the Debaun Springill chapel from 4-8 PM. There will also be a memorial service at the conclusion of the visitation. The funeral will be the following day, Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Phelps will receive line-of-duty honors at the service.
