VIGO COUNTY, Indiana (DLC Media) – Educators in Vigo County are set to receive a pay increase. The Vigo County School Board approved raises for teachers which include, moving the starting pay from $40,000 to $46,500 in the first year and $48,000 in the second year. Current teachers will also have their pay increased to that number. Any teachers who have already achieved that base pay will also receive a pay increase of $4,500. Superintendent Chris Himsel believes that this increase will make the VCSC more competitive with surrounding school corporations.
