UPDATE: The man accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian before fleeing the scene has been arrested. 22-year-old Cedrick T. Rosette was arrested after striking 78-year-old Gary B. Clark with his Dodge Avenger and leaving the scene.

A vehicle versus pedestrian crash turned into a larger investigation as the driver committed a hit and run. Police were called to the scene of the accident at around 7:20 p.m. yesterday. The site of the hit-and-run was Northbound US 41 in southern Vigo County.

The vehicle that escaped is reportedly a red or maroon Dodge Avenger with significant damage to the bumper and the side panel. The investigation is ongoing and no names have been released. Police are asking that anyone with more information contact the Indiana State Police at 800-225-8576.
