ISU President Deborah Curtis Reaches Retirement Agreement With The University

Terre Haute, Indiana – Last June Dr. Deborah Curtis, announce her retirement as President of Indiana State University. Friday the I.S.U. Board of Trustees approved the Universities retirement agreement with President Curtis.
Curtis will be granted a one-year leave of absence starting July 1, 2024, during which she shall be paid 70% of her last existing salary base of $364,289. During that leave, she’ll be eligible for all other benefits available to full-time exempt administrative staff. She’ll receive a supplemental retirement plan contribution paid on or before Sept. 1, 2024, based on her employment agreement and ISU will pay Curtis for unused vacation time and a lump sum payment of $12,000 (less taxes and withholdings) payable on June 30, 2025 to offset the cost of other benefits. Dr. Curtis will continue to perform her responsibilities as president through June 30, “though the parties may mutually agree to relieve Dr. Curtis of those responsibilities earlier if, for example, a successor for Dr. Curtis’ position is in place prior to the resignation date.”
