Pedestrian Killed on I-70 Has Been Identified

CLAY COUNTY, Indiana (DLC Media) –

Update: The pedestrian who was killed on I-70 has been identified as 33-year-old Fredy Romas Escobar of Kansas City, Kansas.

Original: A pedestrian versus passenger vehicle wreck had I-70 westbound closed last night and into this morning as crews worked on clean up. Police were on their way to the area for a reported pedestrian who was walking down the interstate along the passing lane. Soon after, police were called again for a reported collision with the same pedestrian.

The pedestrian was walking down the interstate near mile marker 21 near the I-70 Brazil exit. The wreck did result in the death of the pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene.  All traffic was diverted to US 40 as crews worked. Police have not yet released a name. when that information is available we will update this story.
