United Way Distributes Grants To Area Mental Health Agencies

Terre Haute, In. – The United Way of The Wabash Valley’s substance abuse Council recently awarded $24,000 to two area organizations.  $15,000 was awarded to Mental Health America of West Central Indiana, Inc.to help educate professionals for its Substance Abuse Program in Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo Counties.  And $9,000 was given to St. Mary of The Woods College to help fund their “Pomeroy Promise” which addresses Substance Use Disorder Education and Stigma at the college. According to the United Way more than 1,000 students and over 450 staff will be impacted by the Pomeroy Promise initiative.
