Indianapolis, In. – You’ve probably noticed many Indiana State Police troopers driving new SUV’s.  The SUV’s are Dodge Durango’s.  The State Police ordered 516 of the Durango’s to replace the Dodge Chargers they’ve been using since 2010.  The cost of the Durango’s was nearly $26 million.  So far 219 of them have been put into service.  Out of those 219 39 of them are out of service due to defective oil coolers. That’s about 18%.  The average downtime for each vehicle is anywhere from four to eight weeks.  The Indiana State Police are working with Dodge on the problems with the vehicles.
