Wabash Valley – Indiana America Water company has begun their annual maintenance of their system in the Wabash Valley.  August 5^th through October 4^th the company will be flushing fire hydrants, and the water quality team will be switching to a new form of chlorine called “free chlorine”, a stronger disinfectant used in flushing water mains and fire hydrants.  During this period customers may notice reduced pressure, discolored water and a stronger smell and taste of Chlorine in the water.  According to company officials that is no cause for concern. I you experience discolored water the company suggests you run cold water in the lowest level of your home for 3 to 5 minutes. They also suggest to not do laundry until the water clears up.
