Terre Haute, In. – Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun has announced that the city will be forming the Mayors Youth Council (MYC).  The council will consist of 20 students from the 3 high schools in the county.  The council will work on a project to benefit the community and apply for funding through a grant.  The MYC will also participate in several boards and commissions to help them learn how government works. Mayor Sakbun said in a release. “These students bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and improvement of our community. I am proud to take a back seat in this project and watch our students grow. The staff will be here to assist them in their endeavors.”
