Clay County, In. – According to The Department of Justice Nicholas Scott Ingram Hofer, 34, of Carbon was one of the people that stormed the U.S. Capitol January 6^th, 2021.  According to Federal document Hofer was on the West Plaza of the Capitol building on January 6^th and was seen in the group that breached the police line protecting the northwest stairs.  Hofer, allegedly started pushing other rioters and a bike rack toward the police line. When the police backed up, Hofer and other rioters allegedly followed them. Hofer is facing charges of: Assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, Civil Disorder, Disorderly and disruptive conduct in restricted grounds or buildings, engaging in physical violence in restricted grounds or buildings, Disorderly conduct in a Capitol building or grounds and committing an act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings.  Hofer has turned himself in to the FBI in Indianapolis.
